What is an impact bar?
It is a long manganese bar mounted in the impact throat to take the impact of thrown material and shield the frame from damage.
How does the impact bar differ from a breaker plate?
The breaker plate is the curved impact surface the material rebounds from; the impact bar is a straight protective bar across the throat / feed frame.
Can the impact bar be flipped to use the other side?
On most installations the impact bar can be reversed to use the unworn side before replacement; inspect the mounting slots first.
