First check whether the supply voltage is normal, then check terminals for looseness and corrosion, then measure the output signal with a multimeter and compare with the actual value; for analog sensors check whether the 4-20mA or 0-10V output is linear; confirm whether it is a sensor fault or signal line/PLC module problem before replacing.
