What causes abnormal rapid wear of V-belts?
Common causes: incorrect pulley groove type, non-parallel or misaligned pulleys, excessive or insufficient tension, dust contamination on the feed side, and pulley grooves worn into a bell mouth. Correct pulley parallelism and tension to the specified value.
How to adjust abnormal gear meshing noise?
Check gear backlash and contact pattern. The contact pattern should cover at least 40% along tooth height and 70% along tooth width. If backlash is too small or too large or contact is biased, adjust bearing housing shims or re-scrape the gears.
